“At a Patna rally, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar declared, “We are not only a ‘MY’ (Muslim-Yadav) party, we are a party of BAAP, where B stands for Bahujan, A for ‘agda’ (upper caste), A for ‘aadhi aabadi’ (women), and P for poor.”
Tejashwi Yadav, the party’s leader, said that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) represents the castes and communities from “A to Z” in an attempt to dispel the party’s reputation as a party solely supported by Muslims and Yadavs.
He has responded with an umbrella combination meant to include women, the poor, and members of both the forward and backward castes.
