Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper batsman, might hang up his boots after the 2024 IPL. Karthik will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in his final IPL season. He was part of the Rs 5.5 crore 2022 mini auction that RCB had entered.
The Indian wicketkeeper batsman will turn 39 in June, according to ESPN. For this final IPL season, he is prepared. He can then step away from the IPL and international cricket after this. In July 2022, Karthik participated in his final international game for India against Bangladesh during the T20 World Cup.
Karthik is one of the seven players who have participated in every IPL season to date (16). Along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, and Manish Pandey, he has been a player in the Indian Premier League since its inception in 2008.
In the 16 IPL seasons to date, Karthik has only missed two games. In his debut season, he did not play against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The Sunrisers were not participating in the league game versus Hyderabad in the second game of the previous year, which was in 2023.
