The mangled body of a 13-year-old girl who was allegedly beaten to death has been found by police in a sugarcane field in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
A 13-year-old girl’s disfigured body was discovered in a sugarcane field in a village in the Lakhimpur Kheri region of Uttar Pradesh. The girl was allegedly tortured and killed.
Sources claim that the girl vanished on her way home from school. Her parents told the police that she didn’t come back until late at night, but they didn’t file a complaint at that time.
When the police arrived, they found the body, took it for a postmortem examination, and filed a report.
Ganesh Prasad Saha, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Lakhimpur Kheri, arrived at the post, looked around, and assembled three investigative teams.
The mother of the victim said that her death was caused by police inactivity. She said that if the police had filed her report sooner, the girl—who had been missing for two days—might have been saved.
“Prima facie, it looks like the girl was beaten to death as many injury marks are visible,” the SP stated. “However, post-mortem examination will determine the facts.” Teams from the surrounding police stations and surveillance teams have been called in. People are being questioned in addition to our best efforts to find the truth.
