In Gujarat, the Congress suffered two severe setbacks in one day prior to the Lok Sabha elections. Arjun Modhwadia, a former MLA for Porbandar and president of the Congress, resigned from both the legislature and the party. Veteran leader and former MLA Ambrish Der also quit the party earlier this morning.
Former Gujarat Congress President Modhwadia quit the organization, claiming that the Congress had offended the public by turning down the invitation to the Ram Temple.
