In the WPL-2, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pulled off a stunning comeback to upset UP Warriors (UPW) by 23 runs in their fifth encounter after losing their first two games.
After winning the toss on Monday at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, the UP Warriors decided to bowl. RCB scored 198 runs for three wickets in 20 overs while batting. In response, UPW was only able to muster 175 runs in 20 overs at 8 wickets.
In the WPL, Smriti Mandhana, the captain of RCB, achieved her second half-century. He participated in an 80-run inning. Alice Perry hit a half century and 58 runs at the same moment. They combined for 95 runs as a pair.
RCB made changes in the opening, took advantage of the powerplay:-
To snap a two-match losing streak, RCB chose S Meghna to open in place of Sophie Devine. Meghna and Mandhana together gave a strong start to the Royal Challengers by adding 51 runs in 5.3 overs. Meghna was out after scoring 28 runs.
This season, the host team’s finest performance came when they scored 57 runs for one wicket during the power play. After taking the first wicket, Alyssa Perry enhanced the powerplay’s outstanding beginning by partnering with Mandhana to score 95 runs in just 64 balls for the second wicket. Perry had a fantastic inning, scoring 58 runs.
