Even though he recently returned from a protracted Test tour of India, Jonny Bairstow, an English batsman from New Delhi, will be available for the whole Indian Premier League, which begins on March 22.
On the sidelines of the Dharamsala Test, the BCCI officials were in talks with their England and Wales Cricket Board counterparts over the availability of their players for the IPL.
Regulars such as captain Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Mark Wood have previously withdrawn from the lucrative Twenty20 league due to ECB workload management following the conclusion of the five-Test series in Dharamsala on Sunday.
“Bairstow is expected to arrive in India on March 18 or 19 and will be available for the team’s first game against Delhi Capitals on March 23,” according to a source from the IPL.
