Hyderabad Police has also detained two more superintendents of police in relation to the issue.
Two more superintendents of police (ASP) have been detained by the Hyderabad Police in relation to the scandal involving phone tapping that has shaken Telangana. According to PTI, a lookout notice has also been issued for two additional people including former head of the state intelligence bureau T Prabhakar Rao for their purported non-cooperation and absence from the investigation. Rao, who is said to be in the US, has been listed as the case’s first accused, according to an NDTV report.
The report states that the two people who were detained were Additional Superintendent of Police N Bhujanga Rao and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Thirupathanna. They were ASPs for the Intelligence Department and Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), respectively. On Sunday, they were placed into judicial custody.
A senior executive of a Telugu TV station and P Radhakrishna, the former deputy commissioner of police of the Commissioner’s Task Force, a division of the Hyderabad Police, have also been named in the lookout notice.
