Congress may release its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, a meeting of the Central Election Committee was held under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in which the top leadership of the party brainstormed the names of candidates for 60 seats. In this meeting, the names of 40 candidates including Rahul Gandhi were finalized.
On Friday, the Congress might unveil its initial slate of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. At a meeting earlier on Thursday, the Central Election Committee—which was chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge—convened to discuss potential names for the party’s sixty seats.
