The Enforcement Directorate detained Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with the excise policy issue.
A social media “DP” (display picture) campaign was started by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday in response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the excise policy issue.
All party leaders and volunteers, according to Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi, have updated their profile pictures on X (previously known as Twitter), Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social media accounts to show Kejriwal behind bars. The words “Modi Ka Sabse Bada Dar Kejriwal (Modi’s biggest fear is Kejriwal)” are also inscribed on the image.
“Today, AAP launched a ‘DP campaign’ on social media across the nation to reach every household with Arvind Kejriwal’s message.” “All AAP leaders and party workers are changing their DPs starting at 3 pm,” Atishi told the media.
In an effort to “preserve the constitution and democracy” in the nation, Atishi also invited people to join the campaign and update the picture on their social media accounts.
According to Atishi, Kejriwal is the only national leader capable of taking on Prime Minister Modi. “Therefore, just after the Lok Sabha election announcement, he was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate without any proof. Kejriwal was jailed by the BJP by using the ED to frame him in a fictitious case. The minister questioned, “Why is Arvind Kejriwal behind bars just after the poll is announced?
On March 21, Kejriwal was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate following several mentions of him in the chargesheets pertaining to the excise policy issue. Despite receiving nine summonses from the ED, he declined to give a deposition to the investigative agency.
The chargesheet alleges that every accused party in the excise policy case had contact with the chief minister of Delhi in order to draft the excise policy, which gave them unfair advantages in exchange for paying bribes to the party.
In another move to express their disapproval of their convenor’s detention, the AAP leaders agreed on Monday not to celebrate the Holi celebration. “Holi is more than just a celebration; it represents the triumph of righteousness over injustice and the triumph of virtue over evil. Every Aam Aadmi Party leader today battles this depravity, brutality, and injustice day and night. Atishi said on X, “This year, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided not to play with colors or celebrate Holi.
